Welcome to the
Graduate Center for Social and Public Policy at Duquesne University. The Policy Center is an active and dynamic community of students and scholars that believes social justice matters. The Policy Center has concentrations in Policy Analysis and Administration and Conflict Resolution and Peace Studies.
The Policy Center's faculty members make a difference through research that identifies practical policies and the actions that put those policies into effect. Whatever their academic discipline or particular policy interest, our faculty apply social science theories to practical concerns. We engage in teaching and research not only for academic publication and public education, but also for community betterment. Through our teaching, our research, our Policy Center, and our collaboration with local, national and international agencies, we contribute to policy dialogue.
Students come to the Policy Center because they want to engage the world. We give them the knowledge, training and skills to do just that. Our faculty members play an active role in the intellectual, professional and personal development of every student. Our students use their instruction to identify and define problems and develop, evaluate and implement the solutions. They become actors who know how to apply their education with ethical integrity to real life issues.
If you wish to learn more about this kind of learning community and how it can enrich your life and enhance your career, then we invite you to take a look at what we have to offer.
