Financial Assistance

Most students in the Policy Center receive some form of financial awards including:

- Regional and international scholarships (Fulbright, Muskie, IREX, Ron Brown, etc.).
- Graduate assistantships (teaching or research assistantships) --- $4,000 -- $5,500 per semester stipend plus up to 6 credit hours of tuition remission. Students will work 20 hours per week for faculty.
- Tuition assistance --- up to 6 credit hours of remission.
- Sponsorship from government and non-profit agencies in the Pittsburgh area. This special opportunity is granted to students with excellent research skills and is arranged by the Policy Center. For more details, see Community Development Fellowships.

The Policy Center awards graduate assistantships and tuition remission on the basis of need and merit. To apply for a graduate assistantship or tuition remission, applicants should reply fully to the Financial Aid section of the Application Form. Awards can be renewed based on satisfactory progress in your degree program and availability of funds.

Listed below are are some of the scholarship and fellowship opportunities for students at the Graduate Center for Social and Public Policy. This list is not a comprehensive one and there may be other opportunities for students studying Public Policy, International Relations, and Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution. These competitive awards and their applications require careful planning to complete. Be aware that application deadlines and requirements differ for each fellowship.
